Hey guys, Friday!! at last. This week felt like it went by so slow for me! It was probably because of the weather, here in San Diego it has been absolutely crazy! For the past week, it has been over 90°F. Pretty unexpected. It’s like summer all over again!

Today, I am back with a new recipe for all of you, As a mother of three, my kids’ health is one of the most important things. And health starts with the meals we put into our bodies. However, it can certainly be difficult to get my kids, the little one especially, to eat their fruits. So thinking about healthy snacks for kids, I decided to prepare an easy no-bake treat that will make this process sweet, tasty, and very healthy. So here I am today, to share with you the no-bake fruit “pizza” that is perfect for any time of the day, full of whole grains, protein, and fruit. It’s the perfect treat to make with the kids since it doesn’t involve any type of difficult step. I especially love that you don’t have to follow the recipe exactly how I do it, because there is a huge variety of ingredients to substitute others, depending on what you like. Also, since the holidays are literally a few weeks away, and you will be full of activities, then no bake christmas treats and easy sweet recipes are the perfect option for those parties with the little ones. So enough rambling and let’s get started with this.

INGREDIENTS:

p.s. keep in mind that these are different options you can use for each category.

 

Piniteasy desserts
“CRUST”:
1. whole-grain tortillas
2. pita bread
3.whole-wheat flat bread

 

“SAUCE”:
1. Natural peanut butter or any other type of nut butter
2. natural fruit jelly or jam
3. reduced-fat cream cheese
4. yogurt
5. nutella (for a sweeter version)

 

“TOPPINGS”:
1. any type of fresh fruit of your choice such as : apples, bananas, kiwi, berries, etc.
2. dried fruit like: dates, raisins, pineapple, cranberries.
3. coconut
4. granola
5. almonds
6.chocolate chips

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

As you can see, I have provided you with a list of various ingredients that you can use! Start out by choosing your crust, in my case I decided to use some pita bread because it’s something I know my kids love. This step is really up to you, but I decided to put my pita breads in the toaster for a few minutes just so they could get a little warm on the inside. We are honestly some of the biggest fans of peanut butter and jelly so I wanted to recreate that same concept for this fruit pizza. I took some natural peanut butter and raspberry jam and spread it on top of my crust. Not going to lie, choosing my toppings was certainly difficult because there are so many different and delicious suggestions to choose from. But I finally decided to go with some fresh fruit, kiwis, strawberries, and bananas. Then I wanted to add a sweet touch to it so I sprinkled some granola, shredded coconut and raw honey, and guess what?! You’re done!

¡Hola! viernes, al fin. Me parece haber sentido muy lento el paso de esta semana y probablemente se debe al clima, el cual ha estado muy extremoso en los ultimnos días. Durante esta semana estuvimos muy cerca de lo 40°, algo totalmente inesperado porque pareciera que es nuevamente verano.

El dia de hoy, estoy de regreso con una nueva y muy facil receta que les gusta a los niños. Como mama de tres, la salud y alimentacion de mis hijos es sumamente importante, y como sabrán gran parte de nuestra salud depende de los alimentos que le damos a nuestro organismo. Sin embargo, resulta muchas veces complicado hacer que mis hijos, en especial el mas chico, coma suficientes frutas. Así que descubrí una muy sencilla receta  que hara ese dificil proceso algo dulce, rico y sobretodo nutritivo.

Aqui les comparto una especie de pizza de frutas que no requiere horneado y que es perfecta a cualquier hora del día, gracias a sus proteinas y vitaminas. Un muy buen snack que se puede preparar junto con los mas pequeños porque el proceso es muy sencillo.

Ten presente que no es necesario seguir la receta al pie de la letra porque existe una gran variedad de ingredientes con los que puedes sustituir los que yo utilize. Esto dependiendo de tu preferencia.Cabe señalar que las fiestas estan a tan solo semanas de distancia, asi que esta receta sera buena idea para ofrecer a los niños en tus fiestas o reuniones. Bueno suficiente, mejor empecemos.

INGREDIENTES:
Porciones: varian
Pd. Toma en cuenta que estas son algunas opciones que puedes elegir para cada categoria.
“CRUST”:
1. tortillas integrales
2. pan pita
3. flat bread integral
“SALSA“:
1. mantequilla de cacahuate o cualquier tipo de nuez, de preferencia natural
2. mermelada de frutas
3. queso untable (cream cheese) reducido en grasa
4. yogurt
5. nutella
“TOPPINGS”:
1. cualquier tipo de fruta fresca: manzana, platano, kiwi, cerezas…
2. frutas secas: datiles, pasas, piña, arandanos…
3. coco rallado
4. granola
5. almendras
6. chispas dechocolate
INSTRUCCIONES:

Como puedes ver, te estoy dando una lista de diversos ingredientes que puedes usar. Comienza eligiendo tu base, en mi caso opte por pan pita porque se que a mis hijos les encanta. Posteriormente los puse en el tostador por unos minutitos para que esten calientitos por dentro. En mi familia somos fans de la crema de cacahuate con mermelada asi que esta mezcla fue la perfecta para elaborar mis pizzas de fruta. Simplemente unte en el pan crema de cacahuate, mermelada y despues de decidirme que frutas añadir, lo cual me tomo un tiempo, porque hay gran variedad de donde escoger para la elaboración de esta receta. Me decidí por algunas frutas frescas con las que contaba en casa: kiwis, fresas y plátano. Finalmente agregue un toque muy dulce con granola, coco rayado y miel. Y saben que? ¡Quedo listísimo!

Por cierto que esta especie de pizza de frutas, puede facilmente convertirse en un lunch para llevar. Simplemente al terminar su preparacion, enróllalo como si fuera un burrito, jaja. Recuerda que siempre que estes en busqueda de algo dulce, sencillo de preparar  y sobretodo nutritivo solo debes usar tu imaginacion y dar a tus recetas tu propio twist. Asi que no temas salir de tu zona de comfort y prueba nuevas opciones, a tus hijos les encantara.
