5 Tips To Get Ready For Back To School

As much as we love summer, students, I’m sorry to tell you that eventually you’re gonna have to face the inevitable fact that school is coming back. So sorry to tell that the first day of school is just around the corners. And moms, finally we will have our time back to work or do activities that we normally do when kids are in school. Sometimes it gets crazy around the house when the kids are bored and stuck to the sofa watching TV. As a mother of three, I know they aren’t very excited. However, as the day gets closer, it’s never a bad idea to being preparing for back to school. So here, I wanted to share with you, moms, and kids, 5 tips to get you ready for the long-awaited back to school season.

1) Fix the sleep schedule: It’s time to modify those summer break habits, so this is one of the most important points to consider to get ready for school. If you’re anything like my family, then your summer sleep schedule is probably not very consistent. In order to get back on track, about two weeks before starting the first day of school, try to go to bed earlier and wake up earlier too, set up a bedtime.  This will make it a lot easier and stress – free for when the actual day comes around.

2) Avoid last-minute shopping: Who can say no to shopping? I remember my days as a student when I really enjoyed buying back to school stuff, It didn’t matter if my backpack, for example, was in good condition. It was more like a new school year= new beggining= new stuff. Ok, mothers, I’m pretty sure you won’t like to hear that but sometimes back to school season truly is the best excuse to go out and empty your wallet a little bit.  So for all the middle and high schoolers, it’s the time to introduce some new pieces into your closet and enter the school year in style.

I recommend you to look at Walmart school supplies, you will find a bunch of school items and clothes at a very good price.

3) Get your space organized: Believe it or not but being around a clean and organized space can help to keep you calm. Start organizing activities where kids get 100% involved in organizing their rooms. Older kids need to declutter the desk drawers, getting rid of things they no longer need. With the chaos that comes with going back to school itself, having clean space will hopefully keep you a bit more relaxed.

4) Re-establish school routines: Start by getting back in the rhythm of what your daily school routine is like. That includes,  as I previously mentioned, waking up a bit earlier, having lunch at a certain time, working out, and starting getting all the necessary energy to enjoy 2019 back to school. Believe me that getting into that pace and consistency will make it so much easier for when the days begin. This applies for both, moms and kids, in order to get back on the school process track and for all of the students out there. So if you have young kids, it’s time to set their school routines.

5) Set some goals: Last but not least, one of the most important things you can do is mentally preparing yourself for back to school season. Set some goals you wish to accomplish this school year (as a mother and as a student) You can ask your kids about their expectations about the upcoming school years and most importantly what they would do to make the most of it. Make them personal and challenge yourself, write it down and you will see that this simple exercise is full of positivism and will get your mind on the right track to a successful school year.

Por mas que amemos el verano, lo siento estudiantes, pero temo decirles que muy pronto estarán enfrentando el inevitable regreso a clases. Mama, finalmente tendremos de nuevo nuestro tiempo para realizar aquellas  actividades que realizabamos mientras los niños estaban en la escuela. Se acerca el tiempo de volver a la rutina escolar. Es muy lindo disfrutar a los hijos durante el verano, pero muchas veces acabamos un poco abrumadas tratando de crear actividades para ellos con tal de que no pasen todo el dia frente a la televisión. Como madre de tres se que ellos desearían permanecer en un verano interminable. Sin embargo, entre mas se acerca la fecha de comenzar el año escolar, sería una idea muy acertada prepararse y evitar las carreras y el estrés de ultimo minuto. Por ello quiero compartirles 5 tips para que esten mas que listos, tanto tu, como tus hijos, para este regreso a clases.

1) Arreglar las horas de sueño: ha llegado el momento de modificar nuestros habitos de verano. Este punto es uno de los mas importantes a considerar. Seguramente estarás de acuerdo en que durante el verano las horas de sueño o el horario tanto de nuestros hijos como el nuestro suele ser poco consistente, ya sea por estar de vacaciones o por el simple hecho de querer ser un poco mas flexibles en cuanto a las reglas. Para poder alinearse, te sugiero que por lo menos 2 semanas antes del inicio de clases, restablezcas el horario y trates de ir a la cama mas temprano al igual que levantarte temprano. Esto ayudara a alivianar el estrés que conlleva un cambio drástico en cuanto a nuestros habitos de sueño.

2) Evitar compras de ultima hora: Recuerdo mis epocas de estudiante, en donde disfrutaba comprar mis utiles y todo lo necesario para el regreso a clases. No importaba si mi mochila aún se encontraba en buen estado, por ejemplo. Era mas que nada el hecho de: nuevo año escolar=nuevo comienzo=nuevos utiles. Mamas, seguramente no les encanto oir esto, pero sin duda el regreso a clases siempre es una excusa para pellizcarle un poquito a nuestro presupuesto. Para aquellos que van a secundaria o prepa, es el momento de introducir algunas prendas nuevas en tu closet y comenzar el ciclo escolar con mucho estilo.

Te recomiendo checar el Walmart mas cercano, ya que siempre tiene muy buenas ofertas en esta época.

3) Organiza tu espacioLo creas o no, el estar rodeada de un espacio limpio y organizado transmite calma. Involucra a los mas pequeños y realiza actividades para acomodar sus cuartos. A los mayores, impulsalos a re-organizar su escritorio y cajones y deshacerse de lo que ya no les sea útil. No solo es una actividad relajante, tambien te hara sentir mas que listo para lo que viene en cuanto inicie la escuela.

4) Reestablece la rutina escolarAqui, simplemente se trata de que gradualmente vayas adoptando los hábitos y disciplina escolar. y ¿a que me refiero con esto? Bueno, como lo mencione anteriormente debes modificar tu hora de ir a la cama y tu horario de salir de ella, asi como tener tu desayuno y comidas en un horario mas consistente, ejercitarte para mantenerte activo y permanecer asi cuando inicies clases. Regresa a la jugada, esto sera de gran beneficio tanto para ti como tus hijos.

5) Traza tus metas y objetivos: Por ultimo, y sin dejar de ser menos importante, una de las cosas vitales, es que te prepares mentalmente para la temporada escolar. Fija tus metas al inicio, mitad y fin del ciclo, tanto como mama si tienes hijos pequeños y como estudiante. Preguntate qué expectativas tienes y que harás para aprovechar el año. Despues de todo aunque suene trillado, el estudiar es sin duda un privilegio y un arma que te prepara para el futuro. Anotalo junto con tus hijos y revisa tu lista a lo largo del año para ir midiendo tus logros. Este es un ejercicio muy positivo para empezar el nuevo grado con muy buena vibra y con el pie derecho.

Espero que estos sencillos puntos te sean de ayuda, ya que el inicio de clases esta a la vuelta de la esquina. Los dias pasan y el tiempo vuela y cuando te des cuenta terminó el año, asi que a dsfrutarlo al maximo y a trabajar duro.
